Giving

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

- Matthew 6:21

Why we give.

1 Corinthians 9:11

"If we have planted or plant spiritual things among you, is it too much if we reap material things from you?"

This passage means that when a ministry nourishes you spiritually, it is reasonable and fitting for you to support it physically—through your time, effort, and financial contributions—so that the ministry can continue to grow and bear fruit.  Giving back sustains the work that blesses you and others.

To The Members

Tithing means giving a tenth of your income and is not optional for a disciple of Christ. For example, if you earn $3,000, the tithe would be $300. Malachi 3:8 asks, "Will a man steal from  God?"—reminding us that everything belongs to God, and He commands us to return 10% to support the ministry and community, preventing poverty.

Even those outside the faith practice tithing or charitable giving, and as a result, they often do not lack resources. At 5Fifty5 Ministries, tithing is not required for membership, but leadership positions are reserved for those who do tithe, since all funds support the ministry and community upkeep.

This policy ensures that leaders lead by example in stewardship and commitment, reinforcing the ministry’s mission and financial health.

Final Remarks

Money aka Currency itself isn't evil; it's the love of money and the corrupt system around it that harm people.  True currency—like gold, silver, and diamonds—has intrinsic value, unlike modern money, which is often just paper or numbers created out of nothing. Many in America risk everything for the dollar, a mere promissory note with no backing.

In Acts, true followers shared everything, ensuring no one lacked essentials like food, clothing, and shelter. 5Ffity5 Ministries cares deeply for people, but stinginess pushes reliance on the government instead of Christ and community support. Church cannot be separate if the people are not willing to build together.
